Commercial Law / Contracts / UCC

Business disputes for breach of contract and warranty claims often involve allegations of fraud, wrongful competition and other tort-type matters. Knowledge of how these areas work together is necessary to properly represent the client. Partners of the firm have frequently litigated these cases.

Mr. Kerkman has represented Quebecor-Great Western in a breach of contract dispute. Initially a collection matter, it escalated when the defendant brought counterclaims involving tort actions and defective product. A working knowledge of the UCC, contract law and business torts resulted in a significant jury award for the client. He has successfully represented many other parties in cases involving breach of warranty claims.
