Mike’s practice primarily focuses on representation of individuals and companies in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy proceedings, commercial real estate disputes, complex commercial litigation matters and legal and professional malpractice litigation matters. Mike has successfully argued appeals before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mike’s significant cases include:
Dyer, et. al. v. Waste Management of Wisconsin, Inc. (Waukesha County Circuit Court) – successfully defended multiple defendants against personal injury and property damages claims asserted in conjunction with contamination of private water drinking wells.
State ex rel Boehm v. DNR, 174 Wis. 2d 657, 497 N.W.2d 445 (Wis. 1993). Represented landfill applicant in successful defense to a challenge to the adequacy of an Environmental Assessment.
DeBeck v. DNR, 172 Wis. 2d 382 (Ct. App. 1992). Successfully challenged validity of rule enacted by Wisconsin DNR defining term “owner/operator” for purpose of solid waste laws.
